Travel Insurance

***Please note that all 2009 bookings will be insured under a master policy arranged by  Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited and NOT Swanage Insurance Brokers Limited as detailed in our 2009 Teacher's Guide. ***

The travel insurance is an annual policy and its cost is included in the cost of all of our overseas activity trips, assuming the group is departing from within mainland UK.

Groups do have the option to withdraw from this policy at the point of booking, however we will require evidence that at least the same level of insurance cover is in place, as is offered by our own inclusive policy.

Where groups opt-out of this policy we will deduct the appropriate premium cost from their invoice.

Policy Details

Our travel insurance is arranged by Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and whose FSA registered number is 307304. This can be checked at www.fsa.gov.uk/register. A copy of the policy wording is held by them. This insurance is underwritten by Union Reiseversicherung AG, UK Branch and who are authorised in Germany by BaFin and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Rockley Adventure is an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited.

Making an Insurance Claim

Group Leaders should NOT normally be making a claim on the insurance policy!  Typically, claims are for cancellation of a child's place on the trip, or maybe for loss or damage to a child's personal belongings on the trip.  In such cases, it is the parent/guardian who is required to make the claim. As Group Leader, you should direct parents who need to make a claim to the appropriate section of the Rockley Adventure website www.rockleyadventure.com/parents for information on insurance and how to make a claim and to the insurer's website www.foggtravelinsurance.com to download the appropriate claim form.

Where the claim is for medical expenses incurred by the child on the trip, ie you as Group Leader or the School have covered these costs, then, in this instance, the person/school requiring reimbursement makes the insurance claim.

In order for the parent/guardian to make a claim on behalf of their child they will require from you the 6 digit Rockley Adventure Booking Reference number.  All other information required to complete the claim form, the parent/guardian will have themselves or can obtain from the advice listed on the Parents section of this website.

Should you require a claim form please visit www.foggtravelinsurance.com and click on view claim forms - you can print the relevant claim form required or alternatively you can contact:

Cancellations

In the event of cancellation of a member of your group, you MUST notify ROCKLEY ADVENTURE in writing or via email as soon as possible.

Please read our Conditions of Booking.  Where cancellation charges apply you are liable to pay them.

Where a cancellation occurs as a result of an event covered by the terms of the insurance policy, cancellation charges can be reclaimed through the insurers subject to certain conditions.  Please see the Travel Insurance Policy for more information.

Loss, Damage or Theft

You should remind your pupils that they should take all reasonable steps to safeguard property.  The insurer will not cover valuables left unattended on a beach for example.

Please note that pupils or school staff MUST report all losses or thefts within 24 hours of discovery to their Rockley Adventure centre manager so that the Police can be notified and to obtain written confirmation of loss/theft reports.

In the event of damage, you MUST report all details to our Centre Manager and ask them to complete an Insurance Report.

When your group returns home, the parent/guardian should contact Fogg Travel Insurance Services to make a claim, see above.

Medical Expenses

If a pupil or member of staff with your group requires medical treatment, you may incur expenses not covered by the EHIC. Please keep all receipts for medicines, prescriptions and treatment as these will be required to support the claim upon your return.

If you have any questions regarding an insurance claim, please contact our schools administration team on 01202 677272 or schoolsadmin@rockleyadventure.com.
