Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is included in the cost of all our overseas activity trips, assuming the group is departing from within the mainland UK.

Groups do have the option to withdraw from this policy at the point of booking, however we will require evidence that at least the same level of insurance as is offered by our own inclusive policy.

Where groups opt-out of this polcy we will deduct the appropriate pemium cost from their invoice.

Policy Details

Insurance is offered by Swanage Insurance Brokers LTD, is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance plc and Groupama Insurance Company Limited on a scheme administered on their behalf by Towergate Underwriting personal accident and travel. This policy is optional, however it is a condition of booking that all party members have insurance which provides at least the same level of benefits as our arrangement including cancellation cover, 24 hour emergency services and does not exclude watersports activities.

The insurance includes the sections shown below and a key features summary and policy document will be issued to you at the time of booking with us.
Restrictions do apply, for example certain medical conditions are excluded and you are recommended to read the policy document. Insurance MUST be paid
at the time of booking for cancellation cover to be effective. There is an excess of £50 on each claim.

Cancellation or Curtailment
If you are forced to cancel or cut short your journey (for example because of illness, accidental injury or redundancy) we will reimburse any costs that you have incurred up to the total cost of the trip. Limit £3,000

Medical Expenses

Hospital and other medical expenses, additional transport and accommodation costs are necessitated by injury or illness while abroad.
Limit £5,000,000

Hospital Benefit

An additional cash benefit is payable for the period while you are receiving treatment as a hospital inpatient abroad.
Benefit £15 per day, up to £500 max

Personal Luggage

For loss or damage to your personal belongings.

Limit £1,500 (single item limit £300 / valuables in all
£350)

Personal Money

Covers for loss of money.
Limit £500 (cash £250)

Loss of Passport Expenses

If you lose your passport during the trip, we will pay your additional travel and accommodation costs necessary while it is being replaced.

Personal Legal Liability

If you are held to be legally liable for injury or damage to other people or their property, cover is provided to pay for damages and claimant’s costs and expenses.

Departure Delay

If your ferry or aircraft is delayed for more than 12 hours, we will pay a cash benefit of £20 per person after the first 12 hours and £20 for each subsequent 12 hour delay
(up to a maximum of £100).

Missed Departure

If you fail to reach the port or airport on time because of the failure of public transport due to breakdown, adverse weather or industrial action, or if you have an accident or breakdown with your car, we will pay for extra transport and accommodation costs.
