Travel Information

Transport via Executive Coach is included in all our overseas trips, the standard trip duration is 9 days and 8 nights.  This means your child is picked up, normally from their school, on Saturday and they will arrive at our centre on Sunday.  For the return journey your child will leave our centre on the following Saturday and will arrive back at their school on Sunday.

The coach journey route is normally via a Dover-Calais ferry crossing, with regular stops at service and autoroute stations for comfort breaks, driver change-overs and refuelling etc.  Our planned journey timings also mean that the bulk of the journey is overnight.

You will normally receive our Provisional Travel Details in February after we have received your child’s 2nd Deposit payment.  At this stage, all travel arrangements are provisional and you should be aware that there could be changes.

Our Final Travel itinerary is issued upon receipt of your child’s Final Balance Payment, which is normally due 8 weeks before your departure date.

Alternative Travel Options

Rockley Adventure are also pleased to offer travel via Eurostar.  In this case, the trip duration is shortened to 7 days and 6 nights.  Your child will depart on Sunday arriving at our centre later the same day.  For the return journey your child will leave our centre on the following Saturday and will arrive back later that day.

Independent Arrivals / Departures

Where individual children choose not to travel with the rest of the school party, we must be advised, in writing, of their intended means of transport and arrival / departure times.  In addition, parents/guardians should be aware that the group’s travel insurance does not cover their child for this independent travel and they must cover this themselves.

No reduction in cost is available for children who do not travel with the rest of the group.

Airport, Railway and Coach Transfers

It may be possible for Rockley Adventure to arrange for any children who travel independently of the school party to be collected from, or dropped off, at local airports or stations.
