Who are Rockley Watersports?
Rockley Point Sailing Centre was founded in 1976 and is a family business owned and run by Peter and Lis Gordon.
The original sailing school was started by Peter’s parents on the beach at Rockley Point in Poole Harbour, Dorset. In 1988 the first centre in France was opened which, as the popularity of Rockley’s school activity trips grew, was soon joined by further centres in the southwest of France. Rockley Adventure has become the brand name for the school activity trips run across all Rockley’s UK and French activity centres.
Rockley has 3 Directors who, with the help of a fantastic team of staff, run the day to day operations of all the Rockley centres and activities. Peter Gordon is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Coach Assessor and also an NVQ Assessor. Peter is the Managing Director, Lis is the Operations Director with specific responsibility for Health and Safety and Rob Clark is the Overseas Director with specific responsibility for operations and is also a RYA Coach Assessor.
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA)
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is the national Governing Body for the sports of Dinghy Sailing, Windsurfing and Powerboating. All Rockley Watersports Centres are fully RYA recognised for Dinghy Sailing, Powerboating and Windsurfing. Which means all our centres are independently inspected by the RYA every year. The British Canoe Union (BCU) and the British Surfing Association (BSA) are the national Governing Bodies of the sports of canoeing and surfing respectively and we follow their guidelines for the safe teaching of these watersports.

British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA)

Rockley Adventure Centres
All our centres are not only recognised as approved teaching establishments by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) but we consistently exceed their strict guidelines. The locations of our Centres have been selected, in particular, for the safety of their sailing waters, which therefore make them ideal places to learn watersports safely.

Return luxury coach travel from your child’s school to our centre via Dover-Calais ferry crossing
We only use British coaches with lap belts, WC and Video/DVD (please note we cannot guarantee lap belts on any continental coach used as a result of a breakdown for example, because these are not yet a statutory requirement in France)

Optional Extra Activities and Excursions
A number of excursions are available during your child’s stay at our centres. Our excursions provide an opportunity to see a little more of the area around the centre for sightseeing and shopping and are usually included in the cost of your child’s trip. We also offer activity excursions; the most popular being a half day trip to a water flume park and/or to a forest adventure park for a high ropes activity session.
Optional extra activities are booked by your child’s Group Leader and are on behalf of the group as a whole. Unfortunately, extra activities are not available to be booked individually.
Photography/Filming
From time to time we have an authorised photographer and/or film crew to carry out photography and/or video recording at our centres. This is for promotional and training purposes only. Unless we hear from you otherwise, you agree that we may use such images in our promotional, advertising or publicity material in any form whatsoever. You further agree that copyright rests with our authorised photographer/film crew/Rockley Watersports. If you do not wish your child to be included in these photo/film shoots please write or email us to notify us of this, stating your child's name and full details of the trip including school name and the name of our centre to be visited. Groups of Friends
Children don’t have to just enjoy their Rockley Adventure experience with their school. Why not send your child on a Rockley Watersports junior residential holiday with some of their friends? Not only will they be able to enjoy the Rockley experience together, but book as a group and benefit from some great savings!

Group Discounts Terms and Conditions
Group discounts apply to all our junior residential holidays to Rockley Point. One lead parent is responsible for the entire group booking and will supply all relevant information for each child. If a child cancels and this means that the group size falls below the level of discount applicable, it is the lead parent’s responsibility to either find a replacement or to collect the additional monies from the group. We will of course answer any general questions from all parents in the group, however, parents must quote the booking reference number. Discounts do not apply to bookings made over the Internet. Group discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
