The Importance of Learning Through Adventure

The children's secretary, Ed Balls, announced new guidance today aimed at making it easier for teachers to take pupils on school trips.

All of us at Rockley Adventure are pleased to see that the educational value of school trips is being recognised by central government and sensible attitudes to risk management at school / local authority level are within sight.

Free Schools Tickets to the Collins Stewart London Boat Show 2008

Once again, Rockley Adventure will be working in partnership with the organisers of the Collins Stewart London Boat Show to offer school groups the opportunity to visit the show for free.

Based at the Excel exhibition centre in the heart of London Docklands, the show is easily accessible to groups from across the country.

Rockley Adventure will be exhibiting on the Rockley Watersports stand (A037) at Southampton Boat Show running between 14th and 23rd September 2007.

With everything on display from canoes to superyachts, this is an ideal opportunity for a great day out wih the family.

For school activity trip leaders, currently employed in schools within the SO, PO, GU or BH postcode areas, we are offering upto 3 adult tickets free, for their use or that of their immediate colleagues*. Up to 2 children are admitted free with each adult.

Mayotte Centre Opens May 2007 - April 2007

Rockley Adventure are pleased to announce the opening of their new Mayotte centre situated on the shores of Lac Cazeaux near to their existing base at La Rive.

Offering the same, incredibly popular Multi Watersports Adventure as their three additional centres in the Les Landes region and with a capacity of 110 students per week, Mayotte is set to welcome almost 1000 students in its first yer of operation.

Learning Outside The Classroom

The Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto partnership was launched by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills on 28th November 2006. The Manifesto is a ‘movement’ or joint undertaking that many different stakeholders have helped to create and to which anyone can sign up. Its aim is to ensure that all young people have a variety of high quality learning experiences outside the classroom environment.
